  1. You can get a bit more out of it, but if it's a stable enough OC you have, there' not much point in pushing it much more. The jump in performance from stock to your current OC may have provided a noticeable increase in performance, but anything above that will only give marginal performance increases, and will show no noticeable speed increases. All you'll really be doing by OCing any more is slightly lowering the shelf life of the component
  2. A patch basically just replaces certain parts of the game's source code with some newercode in order to make the game behave differently (such as looking different, or not crashing, or support different resolutions, etc). Because certain parameters are being altered, then sometimes a previous patch will be needed.
  3. That's a 400% mark-up on it's face value! Which is even wierder as the US $ is at a pretty weak value internationally at the moment, and has been for about a year now.
  4. The good thing about the Super Lanboy is it's uber-light, and has all the space and bays of a standard full ATX case, and it can still fit one of the mega-sized geforce 8 cards. I battered the case, moving it about loads, not a single scratch or dent on it through it's 2 years with me.
  5. I get the same problem, WMP seems to "lag" with AVI files and sends the CPU usage up through the roof, yet VLC handles them fine. I have fully updated codecs, and drivers. Just putting it down to a badly made media player lol.
  6. Yeah its a good choice, but not the cooler I would have gone for, personally. If it came in a bundle, bonus, sell the cooler on an auction site, and get a decent one.
  7. Win2k in work, and Vista Home Premium 32 bit at home. I like Vista's eye candy and the fact that I've had NO problems with drivers ever, but I also like how lightweight and fast Win2K can be, even on minimal hardware.
  8. It's not just the software that's limited, there's a lot of boards that will only address up to 4GB of RAM, some are limited at 8GB even if they support 64 bit hardware (which theoretically can support a helluva lot more RAM). Put 2 of those cards linked up in crossfire, and you might just be able to run Crysis smoothly lol.
  9. I'd recommend a program called Sonar over Audacity because it's so much more powerful and has a LOT more functionality. Problem is it's mega expensive and is huge in size compared to Audacity. Failing that, stuff like Pro-tools and Logic will do everything you need.
  10. If you can get one on ebay (they don't make them any more), the Antec Super LanBoy is one of the best Lan PC cases you're going to get. Failing that the Sonata III by Antec is pretty much the same case in terms of size, but without a front fan grill/side window and in solid black.
  11. Here in work we're not doing anythign to celebrate 4th July (mainly because we're British lol), but to all those who are, have a good time! No idea what it's like over the other side of the Atlantic, but it's a perfect day for partying here.
  12. 1. Steve Reich The guy knows his rhythms better than anyone I've met 2. Trace Bundy The guy is master of the acoustic guitar 3. Joe Satriani This guy can play fast yet keeping it melodic, unlike other "wizards" like Vai. 4. Tchaikovsky The guy wrote so many memorable melodies that everyone knows, he was the master of "catchiness" 5. John Petrucci The guy can play in all manner of time signatures without effort, Learning to Live is a master piece
  13. You don't even need specialist anti-fungal stuff, I've known people to just add a bit of anti-freeze (it compliments the coilour of the liquid if the liquid is blue). There's not a lot that can live in anti freeze, and if you know anyone with a car, I'm sure they'd give you a small cupful for free.
  14. Onboard is good enough for a bit of music listening and some gaming, I found onboard 5.1 more than good enough, but I suppose this will vary depending on the mobo.
  15. Doubt it'll be a PSU error, mate, the mobo usually handles those with a long beep (depends on the make and model) each time it boots. It seriously sounds like a mobo error, try EVERY component other than the mobo in a different system to see if everything works.
