dc_519 Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Ok, so I hooked up my rig out of case and booted it up. Everything is going well so far...atleast it booted up  Should I just starting installing XP right away or is there any bios settings that I should change first. I found that it listed my @ seagate 250G on the start up screen but when I went to install XP to see how it went, it stated I only had +/-130Gigs. Will this be corrected after I install XP? I decided to check the forums for some pointers before I proceeded with installing windows. I know many ppl have decided to stick with the 32bit XP, but I also have a 64bit version. I think I will install 32bit for now. Other than that, everything is going smoothly so far.
oliveryochest Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 first before you install xp, run memtest for at least 4hrs straight to see if you have stability issues. if you pass memtest without errors, then install xp. follow the guide on OS install routine in post #6 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1541
Frallan Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 U should star by running a couple of hours of Memtest. If there is no memtest in yuor BIOS U need to update your BIOS. Once Youre Memtest stable go for the XP install.

Angry_Games Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 slipstream yourself a disk with SP2 you need SP2 for all the security updates and updated hardware support (like PCI-E) http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/winxp-sp2-bootcd.html (has a light popup, but nothing a popup blocker can't handle)
