ncsa Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 http://www.thermaltake.com/purepower/W001011.htm 18A +12v It would appear that it does not meet the min. spec 24A on the +12v rail for single GPU and 30A for dual.... so potential for problems.... maybe you can get the store to swap / upgrade it. esp if they recommended it ...? ianocean Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Sound like these modules are UTT-BH5.The simple way to find that is to try CAS 3.0 boot.Real BH5 will never boot at 3.
ncsa Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 agree.. waiting for P/N to be identified..... have been working my Ultra-X kits and they are starting to wake up now.... helps being on a DFI MB though!!
Randallw23 Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Still at work only a couple more hours to go. But I did try to boot up at 3.0 once last night and defintely did not boot. That was at 228 FSB. I will post tonight on how things turnout with 510-2 bios and higher voltage (I'm going to go 3.4V and rig up a 80mm fan over top). Angry_Games Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 not gonna say it will work for you...there's always too many variables in overclocking, but if you got Geil that is BH-5/UTT and a decent 3000+, and a good psu (which you dont have a good 24-pin psu for your NF4 looks like) etc then you will probably have as good of luck as I had
ianocean Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Got two pairs of Ultra X here UTT-BH5 based-one 1GB dual ch. kit and second 512Mb dual ch. kit. 272Mhz at 1.5-2-2-5, 33.6ns latency(Everest),7.5+k Mb/s bandwidth not bad is it?

Randallw23 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 I'm back woot! after a half hour drive took two hours because of traffic I'm finally able to work on this thing. NCSA you were right they have the p/n number that is for UTT-BH5 and not TCCD. I flashed the 510-2 Bios and as I am posting this have prime95 running error free at DDR470 1.5,3,3,6 Temps are hovering around 48-49C. Tried moving an exhaust fan right next to the cpu hs/f but no help, tried facing it at the heatsink, still no help. I think a XP-90 and 92mm fan are called for. I would like to try reseating first, but it would suk to have to restart my overclock (though restarting is half the fun isnt it?...). Thanks for the help guys, I'll keep this post updated as I get more results. CPU-Z screenshots are attached.
Angry_Games Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 I think a XP-90 and 92mm fan are called for. www.svc.com has them for sale for $24.99, no coupon code needed (copper ones are more but I dont see a need for that heavy copper) and a good adjustable 92mm fan shouldn't cost you more than another $15 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11370
