hardnrg Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 fire up CPU-Z, tell me CPU voltage... fire up OCCT v2.0, run Custom Infinite CPU test, tell me temps after ~15-30mins you probably are overvolting the CPU too much by using Auto Overclock in the BIOS... Air: Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Water: DTek Fuzion or EK-Supreme don't expect a fast answer if you ask half a question...
Necron80 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 1... What Cpu are you running? 2... What is your avg room temp? 3... What kind of case do you have? (does it have good air flow) 4... Do you push for high OC's or just give it a little boost? 5... Do you have Sli running? 6... Is your computer case in an open area or rather cramped? Giving us this kind of info will allow us to give you the best answer for what you really need!

T3mpest Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 If you have room in your case for a water loop it would bring down the CPU temps, but a good air cooler+good TIM would do the same. Would you also be trying to cool your graphics cards in a water loop?
exeter_acres Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 from your other posts..... I would stick with air. what TIM are you using? did you apply it properly? are you using the Evo or the Asus? have you re-seated the heatsink? do you have proper airflow in the case or is it a rats nest? toast Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 i ve just installed the asus and it brought the core temp down to about 33 idle and 63 load using everest stabilty test would u say that is a good temp

Comp Dude2 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 well hope these temps are better if not im just puzzled No those are way too high. The max you want is a little over 60, anything over 65 and you need to back-off or improve cooling. And i stick by my recommendation of the TR ultra 120 extreme, watercooling is alot to take on and you need to know what you are doing and do a ton of research. Air is almost as good in many cases and it's alot cheaper + easier
