Yes it works; Look to my example of Homer Simpson in the rules. If I ask suppose for the sixth letter being an S, Homer Simpson applies. We don't count spaces as characters, but don't forget that the key letter cannot be in an article.

 

As for the codename, I say: San Diego

 

So I'll ask for an animal, first letter being a V.
