exeter_acres Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 OK... I have been reading quite a bit of negative press about the ASUS boards lately... One mem chip works, another doesn't... one vid card works, another doesn't... burned up boards, etc. etc. I know the percentage of good boards to bad is small, but knowing what you now know would you still buy the A7N8X or would you go with something else.... I am about to get a new board and curious where you all still stand...

Mercury Posted May 11, 2003 Posted May 11, 2003 all problems reported were either bad luck (faulty board) or problems having nothign to do with the board if it had as many features as the soyo kt400du, i would call it my favorite board yet.. so far, its soyo - features vs asus - performance.. the asus wasnt that far ahead, but you know me, gotta have the best so i guess thats a "yes"

battery Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 heres what my neighbor does. he goes to his wife and starts ranting about how sence she was on the comp last night it won't start, and he tells her some bull about resetting stuff and running programs( without the comp on cause it won't start, yes she doesn't know much about comps) and they all say that the motherboard was damaged due to over usage of whatever she doing last night. works everytime she just goes oh oops u know i don't know much about computers....can u fix it??? and he goes yeah i'll get online( on his broken comp) and order a new motherboard, but i'm not happy about it. hehe i hope my wife is either that dumb or she is into it as much or than me so i can get pissed when she spends 150 bucks on a new nforce4 or something=)
