kingdingeling Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 You are running too low volts, set it to 1.4 and see how far it goes STABLE! Use Prime95 to check for stability, not Everest.
grahamdunstan Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 ok mate thats great thanks what about OCCT is that any good if have had good reports about it ?i will stick her up 1.4v now
philbrown23 Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 yeah I was going to say to up the volts. I like OCCT because it can be set and work the way you want it to, and it will say wether or not you are stable (for those who don't know how to tell). you might want to turn down you ht a little, I noticed that it is up to 1300 that mobo should be able to handle 1333 but just for a higher oc you may want to turn it down a little. But I'm not 100% on intel oc'ing I just know what I've read, I only have AMD right now, will be making the jump in spring
grahamdunstan Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Ok i put the vcore upto 1.4v i got past the bios and on the windows loading screen it crashed Voltage Values are : CPU Core 1.4 V FSB VTT 1.264 V North Bridge Core 1.248 V South Bridge Core 1.520 V HyperTransport 1.264 V DIMM 1.952 V DIMM VTT 0.960 V any ideas
grahamdunstan Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 What should i try next ?
GrandTheft Llama Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 It means its not stable try upping the voltage to 1.42V
Shadowfactor Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Leave the CPU voltage alone. Set it @ 1.4 V for right now Increase the chip set Volts but without knowing what motherboard you have, I can't give a safe number to increase it to. I'd slowly bump up the FSB voltage & the NB voltages... EDIT :::: wow wait, I thought Hyper transport was a AMD thing not Intel ??? I think you mean Hyper Threading in which case does not apply to the Q6600 nor any of the COre 2 Line cpu's
grahamdunstan Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Sorry i should have listed my Mobo it is Asus striker extreme
kingdingeling Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 All of the above posters are correct, especially Shadowfactor, however they missed the biggest mistake in there Raise the Memory volts (DIMM) to 2.1V's, that's what most RAM is rated at
grahamdunstan Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Ok iam up and running at 3.00Ghz as i type , i had to bump up quite a few volts but its runing Temperatures: Motherboard
