Capo Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Zipzoomfly has 2gigs of OCZ 6400 ram for 38 bucks after MIR. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetai...&ps=homain1 Is this decent ram for a gaming rig? Any comments on it? Personally, I have never used OCZ ram before but was going to pick some up with the great price.
kingdingeling Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 ProMOS chips on those sticks, so not that good OCing. If you want sweet OCing RAM, grab this set of A-Data, which has Micron D9GMH chips, and is also only 39$ after MIR
Capo Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I will not be overclocking with this ram at first and down the road I would only do a conservative OC, and if then. Other than extreme OCing, is it "good" ram?

Other than extreme OCing, is it "good" ram? It sucks even for conservatice OCs. I had some, got sick of it, and bought Crucial Ballistix instead. They're cheap and OC like mad. kingdingeling Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 The A-Data I linked to in my previous post are a hell of a lot better for the same money!
Capo Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 I think the A-Data ones you linked me dropped in price again... if they are better, I'll go with those, then. Thanks!
