My second son (17 years old) wants to build himself an Intel rig with a 6550 and an Nvidia card, He spoke to me about it last night but I can't remember the details of the video card that he'd like to get, it could be the 8800 with 320 meg but this might be an economical solution for his needs if that's what he wants. WhenKittensATK Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Looks like a good card for an HD HTPC. Thats one less loud fan inside your case. Performs well for games on low resolutions. So if you don't game as much or don't play on a seriously high resolution you should be fine. Dx 10 really isn't much of a factor right now as Verran said. The only reason I bought my 8800 GTS was to play games at 1920x1200, which its doing an O.K. job. Just need to upgrade my other hardware down the road and it will greatly improve gaming performance.
