i_lag Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 That is a good laptop for gaming. My friend has one and it's pretty darn good. Do you have a budget for this laptop? If we know that we'll be better able to find the best bang-for-your-buck laptop on your budget.
94Camaro Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Dell now owns Alienware. That being said, I'd suggest you look at Dell's offerings. Chances are you can get the same system for less money simply because you aren't paying for the Alienware name. The Dell Inspiron E1705 and XPS M1710 should be pretty similar to what you're looking at right now.

ClayMeow Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Just looked at the specs and that is a nice setup. That is a beast to carry around i bet. Hope you aren't planning on doing much travelling. not only the weight, but battery life will be awful on a gaming laptop, so be careful...if you intend to use this for travel, you may need to scrap they idea of a highend gaming model. hardnrg Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 a lot of the trains in uk and europe have power points... so battery life isn't quite as important... also... a flight to/from france is so short, you'd hardly be in the "ok to use electronic equipment" flight altitude zone before coming back down to land
firky Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 yeah thats ture i would rather spend like 1500 on my mian rig but then its a lot to carry so i have to get a laptop or give up gaming lol
Makaveli Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Have you looked into Dell? Personally, I don't much care for the looks of Alienware products <_<
firky Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 lol i thought the same about dell.... i think alienware look realy nice and if u took it to collages people would feel embarrassed when they saw the well painted and shiney glowing laptop... when all they have is there plain dell lap top's with a little blue on butten. well thats what i think. Performance over looks. Plus, considering the Dell/Alienware thing you can get the same laptop from Dell for a hell of a lot cheaper then Alienware. And, you can always paint your "plain dell laptop with a little blue button."
