Durable Truck For Paintball

My friends and I are planning on buying a medium sized truck chassis w/working engine. We would like to outfit it with paintball gear so that we can use it for that in addition to some off-roading. I don't know much about trucks, but I don't want to spend over $1000 for the basic chassis and engine. That's why I don't mind if it's 30 years old. It just needs to work. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could find one in Northern Texas or what type/brand/model of truck I should be looking for?

Thanks :)

Sounds interesting! :D

How big do you want your truck to be ?

Like a Flatbed ?

a Van ?

a 18 Wheeler :P ?

a Jeep ?

I live in the UK so I can only find you the type of truck your looking for - not where to get one!

Obviously not the 18 wheeler - it would roll if you hit a pot hole :D

K, thanks. I will keep my eye out for one. We are planning on putting in a "gunner's" chair in the back and 2 side turrets. :)

well my grandpa is thinking of putting his 1981 ford f150 ranger up for sale (yes it says f150 ranger on the side lol) and it has a straight 6 in it....i think its a 4.8l or 4.9l but anyways...its got like 110k miles on it and has a beefed up heavy duty tranny in it. he probably would let it go for 600-1000. the body is starting to rust adn doesnt have the original bed. but it runs GREAT.

 The 4.9 is an excellent motor. Great for off-road stuff and reliable to boot. If you decide to get the Ranger, you have my graces.

an excellent vehicle there. the 300i (4.9L inline six) and the accompanying transmission were designed for tractors... so you KNOW they can pull low and slow for a long time.

and the "ranger" badge on the F150's and broncos of that era only had to do with the better trim package.

if you can get that thing for $1000 or under take it.

That looks sweet Systematic, I am just wondering where you are located. I will be getting my driver's license later this year, and we don't really have too much extra money available, but if you had some pictures, I will go over it with my friends.
