LobbDogg Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Has very very similar specs to what my GF's has. It is nice and quick doing everyday tasks, don't play any games really on it though, so I cannot comment on that.
Nodgiles Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 for 900 bucks yeah it was a good buy. You wont be playing any modern games on it or anything but its a good little rig.
Guest Flashstar Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Seems like a lot of ram for something that can't play modern games quickly...
Bionix Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Yeah it's good, check out the dell e1505 too.
cchalogamer Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 if the x1400 is using at least 1/2 dedicated ram it should play MOST games fine on low settings (my laptop's x600 is 128 dedicated 128 system). However if it uses 512mb of system ram that suck's (and would also explain the need for 2GB of ram ) Either way as long as gaming isnt top on your list of things to do with it it should be a great little laptop. Bionix Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I have the x1400 in my laptop and it plays source on pretty high settings, 1024x768, at around 45-60 Average fps. I've heard you can play BF2 on high settings as long as you have a decent proccy and 2gb of ram.
fire_storm Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Looks like a good buy but I bet you could get somthing better for the same price if you got a laptop online.
DECwakeboarder Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 That actually has a fairly decent GPU in it for a cheap laptop....for $900, I'd say that was a pretty good buy.
SMeeD Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 For the amount of memory and GPU in that I also think it was worth it.
LoArmistead Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Excellent buy. I hope you enjoy that.
TyraN Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 One of my friends bought a weaker laptop 6 months ago for 2500$ So that's an excellent buy for 900$. It should play most games on a decent setting. If it heats up too much you could always buy a Laptop cooling pad on newegg.com for a good price.
