ccokeman Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 well speakers shouldent matter wether you plug them in while your pc is running. now a whole sound card, thats a different matter.. 601424 It does matter if they are plugged in at the time. Fanatic Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 (edited) hold on a sec....... Since the computer does not pass POST, does it by chance return a series of beeps? Better question I guess would be, do you have a speaker inside your case? Edited December 21, 2005 by Fanatic

Ste Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 turned speaker on but does not give any beeps 602076 He was talking about the internal speaker thats attached to the motherboard. If you haven't tried this already. Clear the CMOS and Try booting with only RAM, CPU and Video card. If you haven't tried it yet. Fanatic Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 (edited) Not that I don't belive you, but are you sure your friend is telling you the truth and all he did was plug the speakers in? I find it hard to think that plugging them in would short the MoBo out completely. The other thing if possible would be to try to flash the bios and see if that resurrects it. If not I think you have a bad bios/cmos area on your MoBo. You can check here if you had beeps, but since you do not it sounds like the computer is not passing POST, which is to bad, because if you had beeps you can see what piece of hardware is bad. http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm#1 Edited December 21, 2005 by Fanatic
Lance Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Does anything happen when you press the power button? You didn't say I was just wondering. You just said the monitor didn't come on. POST means power on self test.
