I don't think any Intel (or AMD, or many other) CPUs are made in the UK. It should still work perfectly fine as long as the board supports it.

 

As for x86-64, AMD64, EMT64, or whatever the hell you want to call it. having it does not limit you to 64-bit operationg systems. You can use any x86 OS you like. Thats the whole reason x86 is still around, they are backwards compatable with 25 years of OSes. You could slap DOS 3.3 on the thing if you wanted too.

raptor 74GB SATA

barracuda 250GB SATA

hitachi 74GB SATA

 

why not 2 raptors or 2 hitachis? just curious.

Well i already have the baracuda and hitachi - had them ages. I want something fast for a system drive ( the first 2 are just for backup) so i was going to go for the raptor - but my Mobo will support SATAII to any idea which i should get? I only need around 40GB.
