rh535 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I wanted to do some wire management. So when i went to turn it on i got nothing on the screen. Then i tried it again and i barely touched the cpu fan and it shut off. And when i try to turn it on i just get a green light on the mobo. What should i do? Ste Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 seeing how you did wire managment, check all connections and try boot up with only cpu video card and ram. then recheck everything, no matter how sure you are.

Nerm Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 sounds like your board is grounding out on the case.
swifty11212 Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 im assuming the green light means if the board is receiving power or not, or if it is on or off. ok reset your cmos last but check to see if anything is short circuiting. try "unmanaging" your cables and hope it works. good luck. EDIT: grrr nerm u beat me to it lol

kobalt Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Try reseating everything especially the video card, see what it does, sometimes just a stick of ram or your video card not at the bottom of the slot can cause lots of this
RadioActivated Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 See if the video card is well pushed into the slot, and check if it's connected well both in the back AND with a four pin connection.
fastvfr Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Well, since a little bump on the CPU's cooler caused big problems... Try reseating the proc.
Enyce2k9 Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 if i wer u seriously, ill take every single thing out , reinstall all components, clear cmos , check to make sure all powr cables are ok (not rippd apart because of some poor wiremanagment) , or in steps as these 1-have mobo/cpu/ram/vga neatly installd and pwr cable (SW) in its place. 2-if nothin then reseat cpu, make sure no twisted pins 3-if not then i just guess u pulld a powr/ide cable out of its place. (check all cables man!!! check or pay me a rented car and ill go ther)
