Coolzero101 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 It determines how much of your regular ram can be used as your graphics card ram when it runs out.

HomerJaySimpson Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Cool, i always wondered what the aperature was...So on a 256mb card, 128 should be ok for an aperature size?
r_target Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Cool, i always wondered what the aperature was...So on a 256mb card, 128 should be ok for an aperature size? I'm still not real sure. From what I've been told, it may make a difference when you run higher resolutions for games; there may not be any noticeable difference at 1024x768 or less. I've been trying 128 and 256 with my 6800GT and not noticing a whole lot of difference (1280x960/1024). I think the 256MB on these new video cards carry so much more texture memory that it's a bit of a non-issue. I'm going to try switching back and forth a little more.
