The Fubarbarian Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) I'm recieving 3 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313 and 2 of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487079&cm_re=980-_-14-487-079-_-Product as gifts. I would like to take advantage of Nvidia surround and get as close to 144 fps as possible. Is what I have sufficient or is my CPU, Mobo or anything else going to hold me back? Waco Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 You'll be able to run at 144 Hz, but almost any modern game with the details moderately cranked is going to be under 100 FPS even with a pair of 980s.
The Fubarbarian Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 (edited) Ok would my current setup bottle neck the GPU's at all? What kinda hardware would it take to achieve 144 hz and FPS or get close to it. Edited December 24, 2014 by The Fubarbarian
Black64 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Maybe 2 of these But even still, I don't the hardware exists yet.

I agree, I dont think the hardware exist either yet to really achieve 144fps unless you are on a lower resolution.
Waco Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 If you drop settings lower you can hit it...but the real benefit is that the refresh rate is 144 Hz. You'll be sitting pretty happy in the 60+ FPS range in most titles.

The Fubarbarian Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Thanks for the replies. Will my I5 2500k be a bottleneck for the cards much?
Waco Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Depends on the game, but in general, no.
