christopher16ph Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 i hope a review comes in.. kinda interested in that lighted memory module..
IVIYTH0S Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I wouldn't like the idea of those light sticks for the sole reason of always worrying if they're putting added wear on the amount of current the slots are able to supply. I would think those lights would atLEAST draw comparable current to the RAM sticks in normal operation if not more...would that really be safe for a board in long term operation? Waco Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 LEDs draw much much less power than the RAM itself. Crucial Ballistix is similar.

You mean the LEDs versus the RAM? It's at least a 10x difference in power even at lower clock speeds. Most RAM uses between 3-10 watts per stick...and I'd be shocked if they LEDs they're using get anywhere close to a watt.

Waco Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 It's not much with only a few sticks - and that's active power too. Idle is lower.
