Also is there anyway to have a new card's warranty honored where you are??

I am running a sapphire 7770 ghz edition with the core @ 1080mhz and mem @ 1250mhz. It came at 1ghz core and 1125mhz memory. As for the rest of the system, I have a core i5 3450 @ 3.1ghz and turbo upto 3.9ghz using the no-k oc feature on my mobo. The mobo is asrock z75 pro3 with gskill ares 4gb*2 @ 1600mhz. I got the card in April this year. As for getting the warranty honoured, the vendor can get it done but it is a bit difficult.

I saw that one as well as the 7870 from sapphire, it was around $175. I read the reviews of the MSI r9 270x gaming and it looks like a solid gfx card.

And to just to give you an idea of high the prices are for pc parts here, here is the price of a new gigabyte r9 270x

If you can wait for inventory to come up the R9 270X Toxic is the fastest 270X you can buy. Sapphire took all the great construction in the 280 Toxic and then transferred it to the 270.

I know about the sapphire toxic r9 270x. It looks really amazing but the problem is that it will be a little out of my budget. Max that I can spend is around 220 and that will be pushing it.

and you have to realize that the 270x isn't appreciably better than the 7870 (it's really the same card)

Yeah I realize that iviy. Will the 7870 support dx11.2? It only supports upto dx 11.1 I think

It should be able to support it via a driver update considering the 280X, 270X and 260X are rebrands of 7xxx series cards.
