hi all new here and in need of some guidance to water cool my system. I have about 400 quid to spend.

case-  cm storm trooper

mobo-  sabertooth Z77

cpu-  i3 to be i7-3770k (tomorro)

gpu-  evga gtx460 x2 sli

psu-  700w

overclocking gpu's they get seriously nosiy at about 70c, I got the gtx 460s to core clock 890mhz and mem clock to 2290 playing skyrim stable but like i said very noisy.

oh and a couple ov corsair 8gb memory is it worth wcing them or just keeping them on air cooled.

What size radiators do i need to cool the gpus and the cpu?

thanx for any advice

Hello Mengov, and welcome to OCC.

I'm not Shure 400 quid is enough money to do even a basic copper 3 block loop with a copper radiator. If quid is the same as British Pounds then your budget is $570.00.

If your case is a Mid Tower CM Storm, I cant see fitting a 280 or 360 radiator & Fans in it, So that complicates doing a basic single radiator loop.

You may want to think about how your going to fit everything in your case before hand, as some cases are not designed for large radiators.

Also, Please read the thread above your post, on water cooling information & suggestions. Good Luck.

If you are not pushing to hard then a triple 120 radiator with some yate loon slow or medium 120 fans should work very well.

I would say that the water blocks for the gtx 460s would push the budget over but for the processor it should work fine. For the whole system i would use a triple radiator or a pair of duals.

xspc makes a kit for starters with a bay res. Try that out before you dump a ton of money into it.

Or this one. It will do you well. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/xsrad5exwaki1.html

Just do the 360 in the top. The small 120mm coolers tend.to not do as well unless they are then extremely this versions and they tend to run nothing on the motherboard if space is tight.

You could always buy a prebuilt set, XSPC makes some pretty good ones. If you do build one be 100% sure everything is good and be sure you know what you're doing.

I killed my pump and now i have to send it back in *after* christmas. As for the ram no, you dont have to.

Thick rads with low speed fans are a good combo i believe
