Overclocking 3930K (WC)

From what I've seen : 4.8GHz will take around 1.45v . 5GHz will take anything from 1.5v to 1.55v depending on your luck :)

Even 1.45 is enough to degrade the chip over time though...

 

 

I won't put more than 1.4 volts through mine and it's a larger process node. :lol:

Yeah but theres 50% more cores going from 4 to 6 so higher voltage is inevitable anyway

No no no!

 

More current, not more voltage. More voltage will kill it just like any SB chip (only faster). :lol:

 

 

I understand that more cores sounds fun...but having played games on a 16 core machine...you can do way better with a single high-clocked quad/hex core than anything multi-socket. :cheers:
