d6bmg Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Yes, upto 3.6GHz is possible. Saw somewhere that it is overclocked to ~3.83GHz.
werty316 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Access the mobo's BIOS and go to the "AI Tweaker" menu. Once you are there all you need to do is increase the "CPU Ratio" value. You can also increase the "CPU Voltage" when needed.
IVIYTH0S Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The Athlon X4's are very easy to overclock but do not get very far, I am overclocking a 645 right now and it's currently clocked to 3.5ghz, I had it at 3.6ghz but it took a lot more voltage and still wasn't quite stable yet (and I knew this was the point of diminishing returns) so i backed down to 3.5ghz and have lowered the voltage 4 clicks down and will keeping going as low as I can. 400mhz still makes me happy and it's a great gaming chip for $100 for damn sure!! I had bought an x4 620 for $60 before for a machine I built my cousin and it went from 2.6ghz to 3.4ghz which was a pretty sweet jump for the money, gamed just as well as my Q9450 @ 4.0ghz at the time. Really loved that little machine, ever since then I love the propus quads even though they don't overclock as high in the end, they're performance for the money is second to none!
