In the light of MSI releasing this new GTX 560 Twin frozr III 448 i would like to ask which one should i go for? The forementioned 448 edition with 1280 Mb ram or the GTX 560 2 gb edition? I am playing in resolution 1920x1080, and this is what its going to be installed into:

PSU Corsair TX 850

mobo EVGA 780i

CPU q9450 OCed at 3.2 gHz

8Gb DDR2 Gskill Ripjaw

Case - ATX Apevia Jupiter-X (i only post that to avoid comments like *not sure if it going to fit* etc, it will.

PS: Couldnt find any reviews on GTX560 2 Gb edition, thus cant compare them really.

Go with the 448 Ti card, it's literally like 5% slower than a GTX 570 with only one less SMU cluster switched off. Besides, the price is pretty sweet on them too. smile.gif

Here's a nice benchmark, it's blows away a regular GTX 560Ti.

Thanks for that benchmark graph, for a newb like me nothing says *better* than a visual confirmation lol. Well i see now that 448 only slightly lags behind the gtx 570.

The 560 448 is a giant waste. I picked up a 560 ti for 200 after rebate. The 560 448 is on average 300. You can pick up this on for 320 after rebate. So the goal of keeping these cards some where in the middle for price is useless. I am sure the cards will be better in price by about Christmas when they hit newegg. I think if you were asking yourself what card you should get (if you can afford the 560 448) that the clear answer is the gtx 570. Now if you can't afford the 570, then the best choice would actually be a 560 ti so the later on you could put it in SLI for a much better price than the 560 448. So, if you want a good performing card go with the 570, if you want a cheap card that you could SLI for even better performance, then go with the gtx 560 ti. Super simple.

I dont get it. Its within 6% of the 570 and priced 30-40$ cheaper. Even when both are overclocked the 570 doesnt pull away from the 448 560, it actually closes the gap more. I see no reason to pay 30-40$ more for a card thats barely faster.

I cannot see why you would say its not worth it and a 570 is better. Its odd to me.

If you buy this factory OC'ed version from evga, its like getting a 570 for $289:

its a factory overclocked (797mhz) and it actually performs like a 570 or slightly better. You then can still overclock these cards too and gain even more ground.

Of course it would be nice if it was cheaper, but they arent priced bad at all. Cards like this factory OC one for 289, well thats even a sweeter deal!!!

I've overclocked each of my GTX 570's higher than in the review, and they give overclocked GTX 580's a run for their money. I have the whole line of GTX 500 cards in SLI, I have to say the overclock on the GTX 570 in this review does not give a good representation of that card.

what kinda OC clocks do you get out of your 570s? the evga 560ti 448 ftw models are 797mhz right off the bat, which puts them up there with the GTX570. You can get the ftw GTX560 448 for 289 which is just like getting a 570 for $289. As far as overclocking, its the luck of the draw. So what i am saying is this version of the 560 isnt slower than a 570, its not a bad deal at all.

Now if you could fond a 570 for 289, then it wouldnt make a difference. But with a choice between a 570 for 329-349 vs the EVGA 560FTW 448 for $289, well the 560 ftw looks to be a great buy. It will be able to overclock, but it might not reach as high as your 570s, but millage always varies. there are 570s that dont OC very high at all.

The 560 448 actually has to be about 6-7% higher than a GTX570 to match it equally. I seen reviews on the he zotac 560ti 448 which runs at 765mhz (a 5% overclock over) and it was nearly identical to the stock 570 in the review.

I can get to 1000MHz Core Clock on a single GTX 570, or 950MHz with two in SLI. I also got my GTX 570's for $270 each after MIR (and I received the MIR's), and that was in April 2011.

"Let me at least show you where I was coming from.

It is when you shop smartly, that you can get the 570 for the same price.

After the rebate, the 570 is cheaper and performs better. I don't necessarily understand why the price point is so high. If the 560 448 was about 265 to 290ish in price, then I would recommend the 448 edition. However, considering the 560 448 and the 570 are in a dead lock for price."

I was not counting on EVGA to have that sort of a price on their website. It kind of makes me wonder what other deals I might have missed. :teehee:

Here are some great deals on the EVGA GTX 560 FTW 448core. its $289.99 and its a factory OC version that is as fast or faster than the stock GTX570.

This is a great deal. its like a 570 for 289, it really is. Most of the other cards are priced too high....and they arent even clocked as high. EVGA has a great deal going on and its really easy to recommend this FTW card. Find me 570 for 289 and they would be even. This ftw is 448cores overclocked decently. It will be at least as fast as a 570, its overclock will even put it slightly above the 570 in some cases.
