Anyone willing to give away an old GPU

I'm trying to make a small fileserver, but I don't have a GPU for it yet. The only GPU I have is my GTX 260, and I'm trying to keep this under 250w (I have a dell PSU that I'm going to use). I would normally just run it headless, but I like the convenience of having a GPU that I can use without having to turn off the whole server.

I'm going to be using a Core 2 Duo E4500 with a Gigabyte P43 motherboard, so I'm looking for either an old PCI or PCI-E GPU. Anyone willing to throw one my way will be much appreciated. I'll pay for shipping (It might take a few days to get the money to my paypal, as I have to transfer it from my bank when I get word of how much it costs).

I will look...I had an old 6600gt that was modded with a VC-RE that would do great but I am not sure if I used it....

For that stuff and old mATX board with onboard video works best...I use Remote Desktop to access mine but on rare occasions I cannot log into it (MS Updates) I just pop a monitor on it and re-configure it on the fly

yeah, that's what I was going to do originally, but it's just much easier for me to throw a GPU on there.

Yeah if it's just a file server, why do you need a display? Just log in using SSH and you're good to go.

Edit: Saw your previous post. I think it's a good occasion to learn. :) If you don't think so, well, I'll keep my eyes open for an old GPU for you.

Installing an OS, and setting up sharing settings is much easier to do with a dedicated display ;)

I also don't want to get it set up with my 260, then have to swap out the GPU and PSU, because I don't really want to run my 260 off of this Dell 250w PSU.

I have an old Radeon 7000 PCI card new in the box for dead cheap if you want it.

How much are you looking for it?
