Waco Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 You already answered that question, on the 1055 it has two free cores to run system processes, on the 965 it does not, the system has to borrow cycles from the fah client. I wouldn't expect that much of a difference though (especially with the clock advantage on the quad).
mattyamdfanboi Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 it does make a difference despite clock differences.. ones doesnt get bothered at all.. so it can run at 100% all time.. no losses.. the other will get bothered by everything thats running in the background which is a far bit... camaro_dude15 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 well the heat got to me, i had to take off the overclock and both cpu's are now running -smp 3 the 965 hit 58 degrees and the 1055 hit 61, and i wasnt here to do anything about it, so im playing it safe, i think i might buy a d14 for the 965, becuase i like to keep it oc'ed and put the v6 on the 1055 because i dont have it oc'ed, but my gpu's are nice and cool so i will keep them chugging along
