El_Capitan Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 This thread is a sticky thread for people who want to compare identical benchmark settings with someone else. It's a friendly competition, and to measure how well your cards can stack up against others, in case others are looking to upgrade. The original dueling thread: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=179376&st=0 Current Duels: Duel: Krieg1337 vs SpeedCrazy - GTX 460 1GB vs GTX 580 SLI (Nyt_Ryda) vs GTX 570 SLI (El_Capitan) vs HD 6970 Crossfire (SpeedwayNative) vs GTX 480 SLI (boinker) - Overclocked GTX 580 SLI (Nyt_Ryda) vs HD5850 Quadfire (red1776) - Overclocked Challenges: jjjrmy (single HD 6850) challenges Locutus! Speedway Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Great idea Capi So should we keep the chatter to the other thread, and make this one for challenges and scores only??? Anyone up for a duel? Speedway challenges you
El_Capitan Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Thx. Nah, we can chatter here as well.
Speedway Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I was asking, because on the other Duel thread, if you want to get the scores, you have a crap load of pages to go thru, which is time consuming So I thought, if this thread were for scores and results only, then it would be easier to find everyone's scores? Also.....No takers on a duel with me?
El_Capitan Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Well, the plan is, this is the thread where people challenge one another and chat and stuff. The OP will be updated for Challenges, Current Duels, and Archived Duels. Each link to those, the owner of the Duel will update the scores on their OP. Just click on me and Nyt's new duel, you'll see what I mean. You could join me and Nyt's duel for a 3-way duel. Nyt will kill us, but it'd be interesting to see how the HD 6970's in Crossfire do, since anyone considering buying two of the GTX 570/580 will consider buying two of the HD 6950/6970's. If you do, just agree on the benchmarks or add in your own with some settings changes. We'll all need to be able to run the same benchmarks with the same resolution and settings. Speedway challenges you If your willing to duel with with just 1x 6970. Ill duel you! But i dont see much point in dueling a single 570 against 2x 6970's! El_Capitan Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Merc, what voltages do you run at to get 900MHz Core Clock on your GTX 570? I can get to 920MHz Core Clock at 1050mV on my MSI... or 880MHz Core Clock at 1000mV. I have to flash it to get to 1000MHz Core Clock at 1150mV. I never tried to take it any lower, lazy mostly, its perfectly stable at 1025mv and temps are still great! At 1100mv i get 965 stable as a rock, and i can pass benchmarks 7/10 times with 970 on it. So i can only imagine what 1150mv would do for these 570's! Lol, i cant wait to flash my cards BIO's with additional voltage! Ill have to read your guide on how to do it. One thing I am weary about, is reading about high voltages killing the GTX 570/580's regardless of temperatures. One theory is it could be the batches of cards that are bad. It could be the VRM's... not sure. I know my first MSI GTX 570 was a dud, but not sure if it was because it was bad to begin with (a bad batch), or it was because of the stock cooling (I'm thinking more of the former). imm0rt41 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I might be interested in dueling someone in stock trim and then again with a full on OC going. Would be a cool way to see the real performance changes from OCing and I already know I'm not gonna be beating any records
