Gr4vitas Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 So these have been on the shelves over at newegg for a day or two now but thought I'd make an official post about it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000280&IsNodeId=1&Description=1155&name=Intel%20Motherboards&Order=BESTMATCH Our beloved 1155's are finally making their first appearances back on the shelfs. Still waiting on the more "major" brands to show up like Asus etc.

El_Capitan Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 here is the AUSU's ASUS MAXIMUS IV EXTREME I noticed that they have 32GB's max memory supported, but only 4 RAM slots. Are there 8GB memory sticks now?

iskout Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) I noticed that they have 32GB's max memory supported, but only 4 RAM slots. Are there 8GB memory sticks now? I've heard of them, but never actually seen the sticks for sale. I'm pretty sure DDR3 CAN have them, but they're just not cost effective enough for manufacturers to make them. 16GB, too, apparently Edited March 4, 2011 by iskout

camaro_dude15 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 server ram sticks here
El_Capitan Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Those are for servers, for a consumer motherboard, they should be selling consumer 8GB sticks, no?
The_Slayer Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 They should work in a consumer motherboard, they just aren't made for overclocking. The highest speed in there is just 1333. But at the same time, what is a regular consumer going to do with 32gb of ram? Hell 8gb is almost overkill for most people.
