So ive done a bit of research well a good bit my system atm is

Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz

Memory: tracers 4gigs

Hard Drive: raptors in raid 0

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4870 dk top Series

Monitor: vw246h 24'

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909)

Motherboard: asus p5qe deluxe

so ive preorderd dragon age 2 and crysis 2 and my gpu is not dx 11. Im in the 200-300$'ish range so ive narrowed it down to i want either the 6870,6950, or 560ti and cant seem to find a clear answer on which is the best for the money and which one will most likey run DA2 and CY2 the best.

If any one can provide a clear answer or just some input and some backup to what their saying it would be much appreciated. looking to run both games (err at least dragon age 2) on very high at 1920 x 1080

Welcome to OCC mate!

You thinking of SLI/Crossfire?

Most important question: What PSU do you have and how many amps does it have on the 12 volt rail?

Both the 6950 and 560ti are good high performing cards on your list. The 6870 is also a great card but not as good as the 560 or 6950 in performance. Check out this graphics ranking list to get a better picture :)

It is possibly more affordable to get the 2gb version of the 6950 and bios flash it to a 6970 (at your own risk of cause - but plenty of people have done it successfully :)) If you want to find out more about flashing a 6950 check out this link.

The 560Ti MSI Twin Frozr II is also a great pick if you aren't confident with the bios flash but it won't run as well as a flashed 6950 :)

You really should upgrade as even now the 32bit OS is only giving you 3GB out of 4GB since you have a 1GB 4870 (and it can old have 4GB total of system+graphics memory)

I was thinking of recommending the 2GB 6950 too but with his 32bit OS, he'd be down to 2gb of system memory

If OP upgrades his OS to 64bit, I think dual 6850s are the way to go.

However if you only want one video card (lesser price/performance) and don't want to upgrade to 64bit, get the 6950 1GB.

If you want the single graphics card and will upgrade OS, get the 6950 2GB.

Good point my friend. With a 32 bit system 1 gb of GRAM will probably be a good idea.

alright now my video card is 512m so how much will it hurt if I upgrade to 1 gig as far as ram is concerned with 32 bit

I'd get a 1GB card max, but still HIGHLY advise backing up your stuff and upgrading to 64bit. Otherwise you're wasting a GB of system memory
