Speedway Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The new Intel sockets are out (1155), or are going to be out later this year(2011), and I noticed a few people posting their scores over on the 1156/1366 thread. Since no one has started this yet, I figured the OCC members who have made the switch to SandyBridge needed a OC thread to call their own Just like in the 1156/1366 thread and HWBOT, you need 2 cpuz included in your screen shot, with the second one showing your memory tab. You also need to specify what cooling you are using, so that others can compare not only thier cpu's but cooling solutions as well! You don't have to show your temps, but it is recommended! Make sure you use a reliable image hosting website, so that your screen shots stay up I will be linking each post in the scoring thread, and will try to keep this as updated as possible. If you notice your post has not made the LeaderBoard, send me a PM to remind me Categories: wPrime v1.55 - wPrime v1.55 Download SuperPI 1M - SuperPI 1m Download SuperPI 32M - Same as above, just change the problem size OCCT 1hr Stability Test - OCCT Download LinX 20 Pass Test, Select All - LinX Download Orthos/Dual Prime95 24 Hours - Orthos Download Prime95 Download LeaderBoard wPrime jackbrennan2008 5523 MHz i7-2600K - 4.39 - Water Nyt Ryda______ 5000 MHz i7-2600K - 5.05 - Water SuperPI 1M Single Instance jackbrennan2008 5545 MHz i7-2600K - 6.656s - Water Speedway_____ 5482 MHz i7-2600K - 6.830s - Water RobbanSWE___ 5153 MHz i7-2600K - 7.254s - Air Nyt Ryda______ 5000 MHz i7-2600K - 7.52s - Water SuperPI 32M Single Instance Speedway_____ 5482 MHz i7-2600K - 6m 21.810s - Water jackbrennan2008 5501 MHz i7-2600K - 6m 27.099s - Water RobbanSWE___ 5143 MHz i7-2600K - 7m 04.601s - Air bishop245_____ 4803 MHz i72600K - 7m 21.85s - Water OCCT 1 Hour Stability Test Boinker 4700 Mhz I7 3930K - Air LinX 20 Pass Speedway 5100 MHz i7-2600K - Water Brutality__ 4600 MHz i7-2500K - Air Prime95 24 Hours Suicide Screenshot

El_Capitan Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I think I know who the winner is. Btw, jack, what are your temps at those crazy speeds?

Give people some time, those scores will be beaten when people get Rev.2 chips and can clock to 6Ghz lol, not to mention 2011! Well i don't stress test at those speeds, i just don't feel it's necessary. But i idle at around 30c (I leave the power saving features on) and from a small test, i loaded in the 70's although i'd imagine that the temps would skyrocket if i left Prime 95 or LinX running overnight. Hmm, maybe it's only fair if i remove my scores from the 1366 thread. Edited February 9, 2011 by jackbrennan2008
El_Capitan Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Yeah, I know. I'm hoping the LGA 2011 CPU's can run 5Ghz 24/7 after seeing what the i7 2600k can do. I'm surprised you don't run your CPU higher 24/7, with your cooling, I'm sure you wouldn't hit 72C in Prime95 at 4.8GHz.

No i don't think i would either, as a matter of fact, at the moment i'm running my system at stock (Ram at 1866) with Gigabyte Energy Saver 2 . Haha hows that for a laugh. Also wait till some1 puts them under LN2 Prob don't need to worry about removing your scores from the other thread, I doubt RR would post them due to the different socket! I am very interested to see what you can hit on LinX, which is my personal fav when it comes to cpu testing! No need to do it overnight, just the 25K, which is only about an hour. But, if you can make it through that run, then your clocks are pretty stable

But, if you can make it through that run, then your clocks are pretty stable Well, so far over at Xtremesystems a few have tried with both phase change and Ln2 and they have clocked up to 5.7Ghz (maybe 5.8, i haven't been keeping track); which isn't worlds away from my highest overclock of 5560Mhz. Apparently the engineering samples had a cold bug and so far heavy cooling hasn't really yielded massively better results. The chips are still new and time will tell, no doubt they will figure it out soon enough! I prefer not to run those sort of stability tests unless i'm planning on a 24/7 overclock. But i'll consider it if i'm bored one night, maybe this weekend. Edited February 9, 2011 by jackbrennan2008

Good luck i'll be interested to see how it goes. I have had my room temp down to 12c which has given me those results, so if i get a cold day this weekend i might have to put the PC outside and go for it. It's a strange hobby, we pay mega $$$ for nice quality parts and then drive them as hard as we can to shave a few milliseconds off our scores. It's madness lol. Anyway, i'm off to bed have a nice night/morning everyone! Edited February 9, 2011 by jackbrennan2008
