Erriah Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 hi guys I need to switch to a full watercooling solution. I have read a few reviews but figured id get some occ input. my setup is as follows: case: had 922 amd edition CPU: 1090t, currently cooled bt a noctua nhd14 graphics: sapphire toxic hd5970 - 4gb when I run games on eyefinity the graphics overheatsh and my CPU isn't stable above 4ghz (i do up the voltages on the card and CPU) I need to know the best possible watercooling I can get, price isn't an issue. El_Capitan Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 What are your CPU and GPU temps? At what voltages? You don't need watercooling for the 1090T, at 4.0GHz, my max temps using the Hyper 212+ was 52C during Prime95, and I get 45C with watercooling. That Noctua NH-D14 should better that. What's most likely the issue is your case doesn't have adequate flow and output of heat buildup. Plus, I'm sure the 5970 is contributing to most of the heat build-up. Erriah Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 its not realy the CPU that's the problem, the 5970 goes unto 86degrees, then games freeze. I figured if u was to wc the card id also wc the processor the case has a massive intake fan in the front and another for exhausting at the top then a high-speed one at the back I saw that danger den has a waterblock for my gpu and ek has a great one for the CPU, but lost as to the other components of the watercooling setup, what pump, radiator, etc

Are you overclocking it and to how high ? My 5970 clocks very high on the Accelero Xtreme cooler which your toxic should have
ir_cow Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 (edited) what kind of airflow do you have lol. anyways W/c is the way to go if you want low temps and high OC but for a GPU block and CPU in the same loop your looking at like 400TPD which would need 120.3 at the least. to save a bunch of money you could go with corsairs 70? which is just a CPU loop but it;s only going to match the Noctua on a side note i love EK everything. swiftech rads and EK blocks is the way to go but still going to run you around $300+ usually in a custom loop you have: CPU Block $50-70 GPU Full Block $120 Radiators ( I suggest 120.2 to .4 depending on if you include the CPU) $50-120 Water Pump 12 Volts DC pump $60 Water Rez $30 Tube 12ft $20 Distilled Water + Nuke $10 Barbs and Clamps $25 Fan Controller $30 Fans $7 each. if you have the HAF CM case (which i got) your only option is to Radbox a 120.2 on the back and put a 120.2 on the top unless you are willing to get another case or cut yours up. Which city in SA are you at ?
Erriah Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I'm in Johannesburg, It is summer now here, in winter I don't have much of a problem, this is why I'm considering wc
Nyt Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I'm in Johannesburg, It is summer now here, in winter I don't have much of a problem, this is why I'm considering wc I know , Im there too I also was thinking of wc but decided to wait . Remember that to ship over here from stores in America is $80 - $100 so keep that in mind when calculating costs. Oh and be careful that the water doesnt freeze in winter , it gets pretty cool here in Jozi.

I checked around and nobody had when I wanted to get WC stuff. You might have to import stuff. And do you have heating in your house in winter ? It is really cold here , remember that one year it snowed ? Yeah it does get cold.
