nickosha Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I would do what you can do buy something locally so that you can check that it has no stuck/dead pixels before you buy it. I bought a monitor online and I am selling it and buying a new one because it has a stuck green pixel in the middle of the screen that just won't go away and it is very distracting when I try to play games or watch movies. adriantrances Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 have you considered and LCD TV as a monitor? I'm currently using a Panasonic Viera 32" S1 (Alpha S-IPS panel), all I can say is I would never go back to any TN panel, no matter what size, nor any monitor. I would like to try a 30" at 2560x1600 but I don't want to half my framerates for more resolution and less screen size. As for watching blu rays, this thing is perfect. I'm still surprised OP doesn't already have an HD monitor. I've had one for like 3 years now. XD

XD It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's that they artificially made the 1920x1200 monitors more expensive and made the 1920x1080 monitors the price that the old 1920x1200 monitors used to be around.....and I'd MUCH rather have a 1920x1200 any day of the week

How does the TV act in standby mode, does it power down like a monitor?
