Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 Yeah, as long as it's a non-pro with the L-memory configuration you can flash it. Also, you're right...the 9700pro bios gives more voltage to the core/memory because of the higher clock speeds.
FanATIc205 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 i doubt i bios flash will help you get more from your mem. see if you can overclcok it if you cant then do the biosflash. yeah ati quickly changed the 9500 when people started doing the mod to 9700 if the mem is in a str8 row it wont flash to anything
Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 I got a lot more from my 9700np memory when I flashed it. With an unlocked non-pro bios I could only get my memory up to about 600mhz, but now on my pro bios I'm running the memory at 700mhz no problem. (<----that's after the watercooling. With the core being aircooled I could get about 640mhz from the ram. Weird, huh?)
Ziggy54354 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 eh, id do it but A) dont know how B.) dont wanna mess me card up and C) no floppy drive.
Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 24, 2004 Posted January 24, 2004 You don't have to worry about messing your card up because even if the worst-case scenario happens (completely dead card), you can just use a pci video card to re-flash the card. It's really easy to do...it's like flashing a mobo bios the manual way. You can flash from your hard drive, as long as it's not ntfs.
