El_Capitan Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Yay! I got my Noctua NH-D14 today. Am about to install it, but noticed that the bottom of the heatsink has small fingerprint-like ridges. Is that by design, or should I lap it?
dr_bowtie Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 mine had a mirror finish on it...not even a scratch...perfect shine...out of the box even... if you can feel them lap it...
Chuckles Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I don't own one yet but everything I've read suggests those ridges are by design. They're even mentioned in the NH-D14 FAQ on Noctua's website.
