Miek Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I was looking at it because a) It's low noise. b) It performs well. c) Noctua seems to be a well respected brand. However, it has one con: It's $60.00. Is it worth the price or should I get something less expensive? Note that this is for an upcoming build. I'm pretty excited on that front. joel.monteiro Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 it doesnt seem to be an overkill unless u are going for the NH-D14,i think it worth it.
Miek Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I know the D14 would be overkill. You could put the D14 on the sun and cause another ice age. Will it be suitable for overclocking?
damian Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 It's a great cooler and will get you a nice overclock. but at that price point you'd be better off getting something else.
sdy284 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 $60 isn't bad. I paid $90 for my d14. Yes that's a lot, but I don't have to worry about cooling any CPU that i can squeeze into my socket 1366 mobo I deem it a worthy investment But back on topic, the fit and finish of my d14 is top notch. so you won't be disappointed with the quality and the thing is whisper quiet. So i think you'l be satisfied with your decision
Miek Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Do you mean with the U9B? Haha, I got kind of sidetracked. You do know I'm not planning on buying the D14, but the U9B. Sorry if I sound redundant.
