Upgrading Cooling

Right now I have a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 which cools pretty well. With my E8400 at 4.5ghz with 1.52v, temps are 37 idle and max out at 70 degrees under P95 small fft's after an hour. Question is I'm looking at the HDT-S1284 EE. I have heard mixed thoughts on it for dual cores but I have the chance to pick one up for 20 dollars. Will I notice anything? I know the original "Achilles" HDT-S1283 was an upset, but apparently this one is more refined? I can't find any solid online reviews either. Any help is great.

Personally, I'd try to improve on the current heat sink, say a push pull fan config. But then again for 20 bucks, maybe it will have an improvement on the new one, or it will remain the same, who knows till its tried. Finally, a Megahalem will definitely be better, by how much better, I don't know, for the cost. But I'd go for the Megahalem.

i just got the Noctua NH-D14 to replace the stock cooler for my e6850 and my temps went to ~20C from ~50C but to say this thing is huge is an understatement. I have the cooler master Stacker 810 and I had modded it to install a 360mm fan on the side panel, and with this cooler i would have had to do the same mod. No fan on side panel anymore becuase this cooler won't allow it at all near the cpu.

I have to suggest the Corsair H50 with a push pull config, I am using it for my rigg and the cooling is really suberb, and alot better than my TRUE black with the same fans.

Megahalem defeats all
