nns Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Detailed specs with processor number and current config plz.. I'd say go for a Graphics card update now and lateer upgrade the system.. you can keep the same card in the new system?? Where are you from? If US or EU then it would be a good idea to wait for 5800 series coming up in a few days.. Dont buy those if you cant afford them but wait for the prices to fall. rourkchris Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I have C2D E8400 which is the best ATI 5800 series or Nvidia GT300 Nobody knows yet. The 5870 just release last night in very limited availability and the GT300 hasn't been released yet and I haven't seen any #s on it anywhere. nns Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Gtx 295 beats 5870.. You most definitely need an upgrade.. I opine it should be gtx 295 unless you want to wait a couple of months... Gt300 seems a long way 4rm production as of now.. Q1 2010 probably.. Its thot to be a better performer than 5800 series.. No prototype 4rm nvidia yet.. bp9801 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 My money is on getting 4GB of DDR2 RAM so long as your operating system is 64bit. If its still 32bit, then upgrade the OS to a 64bit so you can take advantage of 4GBs of RAM. Not much of a point to get more RAM if your OS is only 32bit imo. As for the video card, the 4890 or 275 would be a good bet. They are both pretty comparable, just get whichever is the cheapest in your area. nns Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 5870 has been released a couple of days back, but availability at stores is a big issue.. Probably a month or half until regular availability.. Dont wait if you need gfx, 5870 seems pretty good. better than gtx 285 PS: no need to apologise 4 your english
Hyper Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 A lot depends on what you use the system for. If it's gaming I would say video card. if it's productivity, video encoding and stuff like that.. i7 system...
