Let us know which socket you decide to go with so we all know what not to get. if I don't go AMD , because right now my favorite processors are the Phenom II's. Naturally I respect the i7's too, but I've lost interest in core 2's for the price they still are. I do love mine but if I had nothing right now and needed a machine it wouldn't be a core 2, and no I'm not one who cares about them being a dead socket.
