Miek Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I probably won't overclock (much if I do at all). Would the Sunbeam Tech Core Contact Freezer keep a Phen. II 940 cool enough? I'd probably use the 120mm version for better cooling (vs. the 92mm one). Unless the 92mm one is better for some reason. Thanks! ccokeman Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 It should do just fine. It kept my 9450 bleow 50C under load when overclocked

DeathNote Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I talked with Nuclear (another member of these forums) about cooling the 940 (which I have) and he said that that cooler is about the best one compared to the TRUE cooler (which is about $60 compared to $30 on newegg) I literally JUST ordered mine earlier today and its $39.99 w/ Free Shipping - $10 Mail In Rebate = $29.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835207004

RaPiDo987 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Same here! I have the 120mm on my 940 and it keeps it cool... 38c idle - 52c on load <--- when overclocked
Nuclear Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 As DeathNote said, I believe the Core Contact Freezer is the best cooler for the money on the market right now. From my testing it cools within 1-3C of my TRUE and as mentioned above costs almost half as much. It will keep your 940 cool and give some cooling headroom for overclocking down the road. Good luck and let us know if you have any questions Thanks
