question about q9550 temp readings

These temps are at full load, idle for cpu is usually at 20-25c. Is there a reason why the core temps (esp. core 4) is always lower even when at full load?

with quad cores, it's very common to have the last two cores cooler than the first two. almost every quad core processor i've seen shares the same discrepancy. my advice is that as long as your temps are reasonable, yours appear so, then don't worry about differences, they don't really matter.

 

i'd also use the latest version of Real Temp (v3.00 if i'm not mistaken) to check your CPU temps, it's pretty much right on the money with temperatures.

my Q9450 does the same thing, the first three temps are all in sync but not the 4th (always is lower like yours)

My quad has the first 2 in sync and the last 2 about 5-7 c lower. as has been stated nothing to worry about.

Think its normal.

My core0 is always 2~3C hotter than core2 and core3 and idles in high 30C's.

core1 is always ~7C lower than core0. And it is also the core to fail quickly...
