JerrDogg77 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Well i just finished putting together my new system(see below) and when i turn it on im getting no post. Everything turns on for about 10-15 secs then it powers down, and turns back on. I put on the little dled2 thing and it says "cpu init" on it. Any ideas? I am afraid to try too many things, cause i dont want it to cause any damage. ebarone Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Do you have a different power supply that you can try?
JerrDogg77 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I may. Im just not sure if it has the right connectors for the video card. Im going to take it all apart tonight and try it outside the case, with just the cpu/vid/ram, and see what happens.
ebarone Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Best of luck! It sounds like what happens when you have a faulty PSU, and since those are generally about the faultiest things ever, odds are thats where your problem is. But you use a new PSU and it still dies, then you have problems with something more critical. My advice then would be change anything you have spare parts for, and if the problem persists just RMA everything.

benjaminw Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 1. Toggle the PSU power switch to off, and clear CMOS via jumper. Try to POST. If no joy... 2. Re-seat the processor and try again
JerrDogg77 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) Ok, i finally had a chance to sit down and try to figure this out. 1. Took the mobo out of the case and tried with just cpu, gpu, and ram. >nothing 2. Hooked up a different PSU> nothing 3. all of the above, resetting cmos> nothing 4. took the battery out of the mobo for about 30 mins > nothing 5. reseat processor and all of above> nothing Im still getting stuck on cpu init according to that little lcd screen thingy So now my question is, what should i send back? Should i send it to newegg, or the manufacturer? Edited February 21, 2009 by JerrDogg77
stewy_fallingup Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 DOA stuff usually needs to be sent back to newegg unless its been more than the time that you can RMA it. either the CPU or motherboard idk how you could check. maybe you could find you a friend with a motherboard that fits your CPU and vice versa. SpeedEuphoria Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) Did you try only 1 stick of ram? in the slot closet to the cpu? Also make sure you have the 8pin power to the board plugged in Same for the video card power connectors Edited February 21, 2009 by SpeedEuphoria

ebarone Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 RMA all of it if you can to Newegg.. you'd hate to guess wrong.
scr4wl Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 RMA all of it if you can to Newegg.. you'd hate to guess wrong. Does your eclipse have that Over clock base clock switch? Try switching the settings. Make sure that the switch is down on 1 and up on 2 and 3. Also make sure nothing is touching the reset switch. Make sure that everything is connected properly and you have the 8-pin connector plugged in. If worst comes to worse just let it power on for a bit. Give it an hour and then if it still doesn't work send it back.
