kobalt Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 (edited) Actually the data is on a media in the middle of the disk, what you scratch is the plastic over it your drive cant read what's on it cause the scratch reflects the lazer to another point on the cd (like a prism)which makes no sense to the string of data.
