$700-$800 Build

Recommended Posts

Hey guys im looking to build a computer, max I want to spend is 800.

It will be used mostly for home/office work, gaming isn't essential at all, although I don't want integrated graphics. No vista also, just xp.

No need for any input devices or the monitor, just the box. If you guys could list the prices/links for the parts (memory, hd, vcard, mobo, psu etc) that would be great =]

Much help appreciated.

always go for the good graphics card and an OK case when ur on a budge. i'd say a good psu and a great gpu. maybe a quad core? u can bargan upon the rest of the peices. 4gb of ram at 1066 only costs like 70 on newegg. NZXT has good cases for cheap... $30. never cheap out on motherboard if you are looking for overclock.

I don't like Intel, not easy to overclock.

What?

The E72/300 usually go to 4ghz. And mostly even noobs can do that.

If you use the right motherboard, its very easy IMO.

P45+E72/300 is very good combination for overclocking ;)

:withstupid: agreed, as of now, intel overclocks are beating the crap outta AMD chips.

I know from experience that the e7200 is a beast at overclocking, and the e7300 is just as good.

I like that intel build, but instead I'd spend a little more on the motherboard (since he can spend up to 800) and get the Gigabyte EP45-UD3R. It's based on the P45 chipset and has a lot of nice features. I cannot recommend this board enough. Very nice oc'er, plus it stays really cool in the case.
