ApfDaMan Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I currently have a right with as 3870x2, a crossfire motherboard (x38-dq6) and an e8400 ect. i currently have 2 screens setup on this rig but i am simply not appeased enough, and my 3870x2 only allows for dual monitors (dual DVI). if i shove another 3450 into my second pci-e slot, will i be able to run 3 screens happily? i currently run the 8.7 drivers. Comp Dude2 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Doesnt that mean you have to disable cross-fire to run the dual screens? Nd are you not "appeased enough" with 2x 22" monitors? Soon you wont be turning your head, but wheeling your chair about the desk/bench to see from one screen to the other.
Jachyra007 Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 you wouldnt have to spin in your chair if you put one if these 5' from your desk... http://www.primidi.com/2003/09/25.html#a590 Too bad (as the comments allude to) that the company was a hoax. I would'a sold my cousin for that kind of display...

I would'a sold my cousin for that kind of display... needs a fifth monitor, I wouldn't like having the line right in the middle. I really don't know the answer to the original question. I didn't even know you could run two monitors in crossfire or sli.
xPETEZx Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Adding another Card should give you an additional 2x Monitors. I was under the impression that Crossfire had to be disabled for multi monitor support though...

xPETEZx Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 If you just want 3, best thing to do is get another card, run 2 secondary monitors off that, then enable Crossfire on the X2 and run your primary display off that.
