kelenskiovich Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I've been reading benchmarks and reviews for a week and it seems that in the $150-$200 range NOTHING can touch 9600XT. Now, that leaves one other option- OCing. Are thee any V-Cards out there under $200 that will OC better than the 9600XT, giving it the edge in performance? And can you it up with benchmarks? Not that I dont believe you, but the wife is only giving me one shot at getting a computer, I want to do it right! O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 For the price and performance nothing can touch the 9600XT(I should know hehe), but you may be able to get a 9800XT for a little more than $200. <_<

Guest FxXP Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Some technical difficulties are on the rise with the Asus cards, such as locking at while using 8x AGP mode. Someone expressed it on this forum, but I forget who.
bigred Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 ATI and sapphire are the SAME cards. Sapphire makes the ATI cards for ATI, along with the visiontek cards.
captor Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 I've heard that the ASUS cards clock better
Nagash Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Their stock HS is a little bit better than the other cards. That is the only thing that would help it OC better.
ravix Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 I'm a strong believe in Sapphire and ATI. And no, there isn't anything better than the 9600xt for your money.
