kulo Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 since i cant be bothered to buy a 92mm cos 120mm is better dba/cfm can i use string or elastic bands to hold the 120mm on the thermalright right xp90 or will it burn and catch on fire? lol cheers all:angel:
tasr Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I’m not really sure you’re going to get the same cooling effect with a 120mm fan on a 92mm heat sink. Seams to me a lot of air will pass to the outside of the heat sink fins. I believe you can get an adapter that goes from 120mm to 92mm. This will also focus the air into the heat sink fins. Also holding the fan in place can be done safer with plastic zip ties.

DJSickWithIt Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 lol i used stripped 12 gauge copper speaker wire cause its easy to work with and i figured that since copper is one of the best heat dissapaitors, that it might even keep it cooler but hey lol it was supposed to be a temporary fix. :beer:D
