Cleaning Zalman Heatsinks?

Anybody got any tips on decent ways to clean Zalman "flower" type HS's (7000,7700) easily, preferaably without having to dismount them?

My 7000 is gunked up, and canned air won't touch it!

Thanks for the suggestions, gang!

Thick dust down near the center is the problem - it's been in service for almost 2 years.

Any tips on getting under the fan, or should I just "give up" and unmount it for cleaning?

I use a real soft 1'' or 1 1/2" paint brush. The bristles are a lot longer than a tooth brush and you can push the bristles further into the heat sink. The cost is more. I also use an old makeup brush and a camel hair brush to clean the motherboard.
