CopyNinjaKakash Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I did this some time ago and since then some cool themes I have had are Royale noir http://www.istartedsomething.com/20061029/royale-noir/ the MS zune theme (can be found somewhere on zune site) , Royal Four http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10955957/ and RoyalRed http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11034691/ . Of course you could always do flyakite if you want, or Vista Transformation Pack 6 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enh...tion-Pack.shtml although i recommend a torrent of VTP6 (its legal!) 'cause it will be faster.
boywander Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Tried VTP6 and thought it sucked, but that's me... much the same gripes as Windowblinds (which the glass effects actually also require) et al.
Ukel Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Awesome post I used to Windowblinds but hated how it sucked up resources. I really enjoy it when people let others know these ultimately simple but not necessarily well known tricks.
KimTjik Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Even though some will find that piece of information by themselves, maybe it could be good to add the information to the first post that if you encountered any problems you could reset, get the original uxtheme.dll back, by running the patcher once more. Besides this option I really like the BBlean option (uses about 7k of memory), a kind of blackbox inspired desktop. For some work it's a much faster desktop for me when searching through the computer and network for files.

Ukel Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/48006161/ On that theme you can see a calender and events window open. How do i get a program like that? It's exactly what i want simple but obvious. Is it probably something built into the theme? I dont want to use the Desktop Sidebar because it's events thing works off of Outlook which i dont use. Use the Yahoo! Widget Engine...it used to be Konfabulator but Yahoo! bout it. There are hundreds of widgets you can use including desktop calender widgets. http://widgets.yahoo.com/
