Kingfisher Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Welcome to the Street. With your 3800+ you are limited to 9 multi or lower. To get where you want to be you will need 245 x 9 = 2205. There are plenty of other factors involved to be stable there. Voltage, memory timings and power supply are some of them. Be sure you have good cooling and check your temps. You can leave your HTT multi on auto. For alot more information check out the overclock link under my sig. Good luck.
granulf Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Ehhh, you mean 10x multiplier! 2.2ghz should be really easy without any problems at all.
ruffrydaz Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks so 10 x 220 should be no problem on stock volts and cooling I heard its better to use 9 x 225 due to my ram bieng ddr600 or something whats the highest i could get with stock cooling i just got orthos so ill run some tests and check the temps What the max temp it should be under strain
granulf Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks so 2 x 220 should be no problem on stock volts and cooling whats the highest i could get with stock cooling i just got orthos so ill run some tests and check the temps What the max temp it should be under strain Try to keep core temp under 55c, I would probably keep at stock volts(1.35V) with the stock cooler. I guess 250x10 should be ok

You obviously don't want to keep it at stock speed
ruffrydaz Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 sorry i ment 9 x 250 instead of 10 x 225 Because of my ram speed or somthing it is rated at even more fsb (300MHz) so if i want to use out my ram, its better to use 250Mhz then 225MHz? Blaise Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 9 x 250 will give you better bandwidth on your RAM.
Angry_Games Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 9 x 250 will give you better bandwidth on your RAM. but bandwidth isn't as important as cpu mhz: http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40178
