red930 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Representing your extreme disappointment with your New: Opteron 165 (CCBWE 0551VPMW:  ) in your sig. struck me as quite hilarious. hey... i'm mourning the corruption of the drivers for my luckiness.. looks like I'll have to do a reinstall
General Septem Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Actually I laughed at the name you gave it, Supertoilet. :shake: I got the good CCBBE 0616XPMW stepping. I saw someone (likewhoa) with a 0617 get a really good OC out of his, like 3.1something GHz.
red930 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 what pisses me off is that i ordered at a supposedly prime time, and the reviewers who ordered around the same time i did got the good ccbbes, and i ended up with a crappy ccbwe. lousy newegg, i'll probably just sell it off. Is it that bad? You don't think you could even get 2.8 GHz out of it?
red930 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Is it that bad? You don't think you could even get 2.8 GHz out of it? most ppl top out around 2.7GHz at 1.5v+ i think that allthatwhichis got 2.61GHz out of it @ 1.5v. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...&highlight=0551 i have yet to pop it in, but by the looks of it i'll just sell it to a friend and order a 170 off the egg. seems like a lot of ppl are getting ccbbe's from them too. apparently the egg still has the ccbbe's, because after i ordered there were 5 new reviews stating they got CCBBE chips. aelfwyne Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I got my Opty 170 from NewEgg about two weeks ago, and it was CCBBE 0615EPMW.... Clocks 2.7 at stock voltage/cooling on a craptacular board that's being replaced by the DFI on the way.
red930 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 yeah seems like newegg has a surplus of these ccbbe parts for the 170.. me, i'm just selling my 165 and going to my local fry's to pick out a stepping. dammit my 165 won't even post at 2.6ghz with 1.5v... General Septem Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 dammit my 165 won't even post at 2.6ghz with 1.5v... Damn, that's complete sh#t for an Opty. And I thought all Denmarks could hit 2.6 at stock everything (being nothing more than just very stable Toldeos and all). :/
lugie Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Opty 170 CCBBE less than a week ago from the egg.

likewhoa Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 lol what you get? i got my CCBBE 0617FPMW from newegg in late july
red930 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Chill man, chill. Look, you paid for 1.8Ghz...so, that's really the only speed you're guaranteed to get. If you want it to be faster, buy a faster processor. You really shouldn't RMA it just because of stepping. There's nothing wrong with the processor.
