quick question about dual core and bios

my bios date is 4/6/06. do i need to update my bios to get a dual core cpu to work properly or anything? thanks

The 6/23/05 BIOS and all later versions are fully Dual Core compatible.

No, it just doesn't work like that.

 

Wevsspot had great success in upgrading from a single core to dual core. Check his post here.

 

Somewhere else there is some specific instructions for upgrading from single to dual core CPU’s. Try using the search function.

 

 

Also your going to have trouble with that Hyper 425W PSU and Dual core.

 

Best do yourself and your motherboard a big favor. Get a PSU from the DFI Recommended Power Supplies list. If it is not here forget it.

And I'm still going strong here over a month later. No issues whatsoever. Playing FEAR and BF2 is like a new experience. Burning a DVD and surfing the web or catching up on emails - just blazes through the whole thing. I'm extremely satisfied. As a matter of fact, my PC is running so great I truly cringe at the thought of when I HAVE to reinstall Windows.
